A significant milestone in the Waikato Regional Theatre project was realised in October with the appointment of the board for the Waikato Regional Property Trust.
The team of chair Ross Hargood, treasurer Belinda Mulgrew, local lawyer Scott Ratuki, Momentum Waikato founding Chair Ken Williamson and theatre governance panel member Julian Elder have now had their initial round of meetings and are establishing their processes ahead of getting fully underway in the new year. Their first mission is to establish the operating company responsible for the theatre’s venue management, artistic programme direction and event promotion.
The Waikato Regional Property Trust will own the new theatre, build its maintenance fund and ensure appropriate maintenance schedules.
