As your Community Foundation, Momentum Waikato exists to facilitate the future wellbeing of the region. We are channelling the philanthropic generosity of the people of the Waikato towards effectively and efficiently addressing their local concerns, to create ‘a better Waikato for everyone, forever’.

Top director backs premier venue in Waikato

A leading musical theatre director says the planned Waikato Regional Theatre will be “one of New Zealand’s premier venues” and a magnet for top talent and touring international shows.

David Sidwell, Hamilton Operatic’s director and head of Wintec’s music program, has worked on and seen shows all over the world. He is looking forward to both professional and community performers taking the stage in the theatre’s attractive riverside setting.

A Quiet Act of Generosity – the sequel

Back in 2016 we published a ‘Giving Story’ that told of a local lawyer who, when meeting a client to plan their will, raised the possibility of a bequest and the advantages of investing it for sustainable returns that could then be gifted to worthy causes or projects over time, rather than being ‘all used up in one go’.
